Kentucky Derby May 7 Pinks!

AANNNNDD  THEY"RE OFF!   My pinks today celebrate the Kentucky Derby!! Its the 137th Run for the Roses! As the saying goes, its the two greatest minutes in sports! Good luck to all the owners, riders, and of coarse, the horses! magnificent beauties! Well, it's time to get my hat and go to the party!

It wouldn't be a Derby with out a few traditions.

Mint Julip recipe for a crowd
Cracked ice
1 gallon of Kentucky Bourbon whiskey
1 batch of minted simple syrup

 fresh mint sprigs
PS...Happy Mother's Day! Posting another for mom! Happy Pink Saturday!

PINK OUT!

If you are planning to attend the Kentucky Oaks, you should know in advance that you can wear any color as long as it’s PINK!
The adopted color of the Kentucky Oaks is PINK in honor of the Oaks official flower, the stargazer lily, and the official color of breast cancer awareness is PINK.  To connect the Oaks with its partner charities, Susan G. Komen for the Cure ® and Horses and Hope, Churchill Downs is asking you to THINK PINK when it comes to your attire for Kentucky Oaks 137!
Bravo!!
